So I get a sense of nostalgia when I see a CRF230 on the trail or in the back of someone’s truck. When I found out that Honda had replaced their CRF230F with a 250cc four-stroke in 2019, I felt a little sad that the engine package that meant so much to me had finally been replaced.

Posted December 7, 2010. Any non synthetic 10w40 will work. I ran the regular white bottle / blue label Valvolene 10w40 motor oil in my CRF150F for 5 years without a problem. Two years ago I switched to Shell Rotella 15w40 on advice from most people here in Thumper Talk. Bike is still running strong.
The CRF is one of the lightest feeling bikes on the track. This Honda is very neutral handling and does just about everything well. Ergonomics fit a wide variety of shapes and sizes without the need to move or adjust much. The CRF is a light feeling bike. Weighing in at 224 lb. empty and 236 lb. with a full tank. It also feels tight and sturdy.
